Program Description

Designed for individuals interested in preparing for or furthering their careers in the management of healthcare delivery entities, such as integrated systems, hospitals and managed care organizations. The program also provides training that leads to careers in consulting, health planning, policy analysis and long-term care administration. 


Admissions Process

Applicants for the program must fulfill the requirements of both the Graduate College and the Monte Ahuja College of Business.

Career Opportunities

A Master of Health Care Management (MHCM) equips graduates with leadership, operational, and strategic decision-making skills needed to excel in today’s evolving health care industry. The program prepares students for a wide range of rewarding careers in hospitals, health systems, consulting firms, insurance organizations, and public health agencies, including:

  • Health Care Administrator – Overseeing daily operations, staffing, budgeting, and patient care services within hospitals and health care organizations.
  • Hospital Operations Manager – Improving efficiency, quality, and performance across clinical and administrative departments.
  • Health Services Manager – Coordinating medical and health services while ensuring compliance with health regulations and organizational goals.
  • Managed Care Administrator – Managing health insurance programs, provider networks, and patient care coordination initiatives.
  • Health Care Consultant – Advising organizations on strategy, operations, policy, and performance improvement in the health care sector.
