Students VIP Tour Federal Reserve Bank November 2017

FMAVisit_FederalReserveBank.pngOn Friday, November 17th, 2017 two Cleveland State student organizations received a VIP tour of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. The Financial Management Association (FMA) and Beta Alpha Psi (BAP, honorary Accounting fraternity) arrived at the Federal Reserve at 11:30 AM.

Students were treated to lunch and a presentation. Information about how the Federal Reserve operates and the significance of the Cleveland branch in particular were higlighted.

Students then had the honor to speak with key leaders Stephen Jenkins (Senior Vice President of Supervision and Regulation), and Mark Meder (Senior Vice President and General Auditor and Cleveland State University Accounting Alumnus) and ask questions about the Fed and the tour they were about to embark upon.

The VIP tour included special access to the underground vaults and other historic features of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.

The important takeaways that the FMA and Beta Alpha Psi students received were the connections they made with with the staff. The Cleveland branch employs over 800 people and is constantly looking for new interns and positions to be filled by local, knowledgeable students. Earning a job at the Cleveland Federal Reserve Bank is a dream for any accounting or finance student.

The Federal Reserve was impressed and have invited the FMA for another VIP tour in February.
