Nuhr H. AbbasNuhr H. Abbas is the Rotary Club of Cleveland's Excellence in General Business honoree for 2023. Although Nuhr’s ancestry is Palestinian, she was born and raised in Cleveland. She attended high school at Saint Joseph Academy, where she participated in track and field, on the stage crew and as a member of the handbells group. She applied for and received a College Now Greater Cleveland Scholarship that helped her to be able to further her education at Cleveland State University.

Nuhr will be graduating in May Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business and a Property Management Minor. Nuhr has also earned the Real Estate Certificate. As well as being a full-time student, Nuhr has spent the last year and a half working full-time at a Target store, first as a Guest Advocate and then as a Service & Engagement Team Lead.

Nuhr hopes to begin a career in Property Management soon. She prefers to spend her free time outside, going on walks or playing basketball. She says her favorite experience throughout college has been meeting other Cleveland State students in her classes each semester from all kinds of backgrounds, ethnicities, etc.

In early 2021, Nuhr worked at the Cleveland State University COVID-19 Mass Vaccination Clinic in the Wolstein Center. There she served as a Guest & Transportation Assistant alongside members of FEMA and the National Guard.
