Josiah Fleshman

Josiah Fleshman with Valedictorian PlaqueJosiah is the Monte Ahuja College of Business Spring 2021 valedictorian. A proud born-and-bred Clevelander who was homeschooled for the first eleven years of his academic career, Josiah began his college career while still in high school at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) as a College Credit Plus student. He attended three model United Nations conferences and was recognized for two awards.

After high school and Tri-C, Josiah came to Cleveland State University. He is an Accounting major with a minor in Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance.

Josiah FleshmanWhile at CSU, Josiah participated in a variety of enriching organizations, including Campus Bible Fellowship, Cru, the Freshman & Sophomore Business Association, and Beta Alpha Psi. His last year, he served as the Treasurer of Beta Alpha Psi. In his role, he assisted with a variety of projects including: recording Beta Alpha Psi’s revenues and expenses, interacting with Student Life to setup ShopNet payment systems, depositing funds into the agency account, planning major events and assisting with formulating a Best Practices presentation entitled “Helping From Home”.

He has had the privilege to personally participate in many volunteer programs, including the Neighborly “Write Your Neighbor” card program, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank and the Church of the Covenant Saturday Tutoring Program. In this virtual environment, he assisted the organization with promoting fundraisers for the Greater Cleveland Foodbank, WomenSafe and Junior Achievement.

In his professional life, Josiah interned as a corporate accountant, public accountant and internal auditor with Third Federal, Novogradac and KeyBank respectively. He intends to sit for the CPA upon graduation and will begin as an internal auditor with KeyBank in July 2021. In his free time, Josiah enjoys running, kayaking and watching Cleveland sports.
