In May of 2015, in recognition of Cleveland State University's 50th Anniversary celebration and as part of the ENGAGE Campaign, executives from GE committed $500,000 towards full-tuition scholarships targeted for students pursuing a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) major at CSU.

Alumni who played key roles in establishing the GE Scholars Program included Maryrose Sylvester, MBA ’93, president and CEO of Current powered by GE; Russell Stokes, BBA ’96, president and chief executive officer of GE Energy Connections and senior vice president of GE; and Lloyd Trotter, BBA ’72, a former vice chairman of GE and former president of the Industrial Business units.

The gift was recognized as part of ENGAGE: The Campaign for Cleveland State University, CSU’s first-ever campaign.
