Beta Alpha Psi Wins First Place In Midwest Best Practices 2022

Beta Alpha PsiThe Cleveland State University chapter of Beta Alpha Psi has earned a first place finish in the Best Practices Competition sponsored by Deloitte. This is the second year in a row that CSU students have placed first at the Midwest Best Practices competition.

This year's Best Practices theme related to "Creating What Is Possible": The Art of Change, The Art of Engagement and The Art of Teaming. Cleveland State placed first in The Art of Change category and will now move on to the international competition at the Annual Meeting (July 28-30th in Orlando).

"The biggest driver of change for us was COVID and then post-COVID," said co-president Kyle Ray. "We made it our goal to increase student participation in spite of the pandemic and gave our members a voice in remote vs. in-person events and firm visits."

"Our initiative, The Flexible Engagement Initiative, looks to meet the needs and desires of our members," said co-president Rob Hemly. "We look to schedule professional hour meetings that will best fit our members' busy schedules, not necessarily what is easiest for the executive board in terms of planning."

"When our members have a voice in what professionals they would like to interact with and the times of the meetings, this results in more planning efforts, but is beyond worth it when our members are excited to join professional meetings and get what they desire by being part our Beta Alpha Psi Chapter," Rob added.
