Ohio Society of CPAs High School Accounting Day 2017

Nearly 300 high school students were in attendance at High School Accounting Days at Cleveland State University, sponosored by The Ohio Society of CPAs. The College of Business Accounting Department and student organization, Beta Alpha Psi, partnered partnered with the Society to hold the event in the Student Center on November 16th, 2017. 

High School Accounting Career Days are half-day events that bring local high school students to a college campus to learn about Accounting as a major and CPA careers. Local CPAs serve as speakers, share insights into the profession and explain the variety of career paths available. College Accounting majors and graduate students also attend and encourage students to follow their path, share advice related to the transition from high school to college and more.

Guest speakers included Metrice Sharp, CPA, Managing Partner at CLE Consulting Firm and instructor at Cuyahoga Community College and Keith Valore, CPA, Vice President, Finance Global Integration at Sherwin-Williams and two-time Cleveland State alumnus of the College of Business (BBA in 1999 and MBA in 2005).
