James R. Glynn

Jim Glynn, a Certified Public Accountant, retired as the director, CEO, president and chief operating officer of Invitrogen Corporation. He joined the firm in 1998 and also served as executive vice president and chief financial officer. Mr. Glynn managed the growth of Invitrogen from a private company with $23 million in revenues to a multi-national public company with $800 million in revenues. He raised $1 billion through two public offerings and two convertible debt offerings, and managed and negotiated acquisitions in excess of $2.5 billion.

Mr. Glynn began his career as an audit manager with PriceWaterhouse in 1974. He also served as vice president of finance and treasurer at Lubrizol Enterprises, executive vice president and CFO of Mycogen Corp., and director, COO and CFO of Matrix Pharmaceutical, Inc. 

His current and past board service includes eBioscience, Alphatec Spine, WebSideStory, Matrix Pharmaceutical  and Mycogen.
