David Flors

Hello! I'm David Flors and I started my Stores General Accounting Co-op with Sherwin-Williams in October of 2018. My daily tasks include ordering checks for Sherwin-Williams stores to use and approving written checks once they are to be paid. I also resolve negative customer deposit accounts.

Contractors will often leave a deposit at a store for their employees to use to pick up paint orders. However, sometimes the store will give out too much money to the customer or run the deposit incorrectly in their point-of-sale. I review the overdrawn customer accounts and help store managers resolve these accounts over the phone or via email.

I also collect data from store managers regarding customer complaints to accrue for how much sold product is likely to be complained upon in the future. This is done by estimating the time lag between when a product is sold and when a complaint is filed for that product. Another task I had was to reconcile Canadian credit card transactions to bank deposits.

I have enjoyed my time at Sherwin-Williams, and plan to complete my co-op when I graduate in May of 2020. If I remain at Sherwin-Williams, I could become a field auditor, who audits a zone of stores. Sherwin-Williams is a great fit for Cleveland State students who want to work at a great company part-time, but still want to attend courses full-time.

David is majoring in Accounting and minoring in Finance.
