Business Strategy Team Led by Anthony Iaquinto

Students Clay Cooper, Michael Karaffa, Nicholas Oblander and Mike Vasilou impressed not only their Management professor Anthony Iaquinto, with their performance in the Business Strategy Game (BSG), but also the BSG team's authors.

In The Business Strategy Game, teams of up to five members are assigned to operate an athletic footwear company that produces and markets both branded and private-label footwear. The teams compete against other companies run by other members in class and then globally.

The students, who called themselves "G Company" or Compage G earned a Global Top 100 ranking and tied for the best Overall Score performance for the week of March 28, 2016 through April 3, 2016, against all teams worldwide.

Each Monday, the Business Strategy Game compiles lists of the prior week's best-performing companies worldwide based on four measures: Overall Score (current year), Earnings Per Share, Return on Average Equity and  Stock Price.

The BSG team of authors wrote: "You should be quite proud of your students for such an excellent performance - this reflects well on you and the caliber of instruction that students are receiving in your course."

"This semester, several of our business simulation game teams have placed on the best 100 lists worldwide in a number of categories," said Anthony Iaquinto.

"However, last week, one of our online teams (G Company) placed number one in the overall category worldwide. Meaning that our team was the very best company among the thousand or so teams currently playing the Business Strategy Game this past semester. I have supervised hundreds of teams over the years and this is a first for me. I believe it is a point of pride that the College of Business and CSU."
