AMA Case Competition 2022

AMA-CaseCompetitionClass-2023.pngThe Cleveland State University American Marketing Association (AMA) team earned an honorable mention recognition in the annual AMA Collegiate Case Competition. This placed CSU in the top third of participating schools and as the only university in Northeast Ohio to place at the competition.

The goal of the project was to increase memberships to The Wall Street Journal among college students. This includes increasing engagement for those who have a license provided by the university, as well as increasing individual student memberships. The target markets were both community college students as well as traditional 4-year university college students.

"This team developed an outstanding marketing plan for The Wall Street Journal, said Kim Ruggeri, instructor and AMA faculty advisor. "They designed surveys and focus groups to learn about news consumption among college students. Then, based on their research they developed innovative and unique creative and media ideas to address the client's marketing communications needs. Their plan was smart and creative and I'm very proud of the outcome."

Participating students included:

Richard Baker Amanda Balaban
Molly Bregar Dean Carlson
Deven Daniels Jacob DiFranco
Adam Jones Henri Martineau
Philippe Martineau Jaylen McCaulley
Colin Neumann Chelsea Penfield
