Mitchell Saltz

Mitchell Saltz, BBA 1974

Mitchell Saltz brings both entrepreneurial and corporate experience from his 30+ years in the business marketplace. He is currently the chairman and managing partner of earth 911 LLC and Southwest Capital Partners. Mr. Saltz founded Saf-T-Hammer Corporation in 1997, originally formed to develop and market firearm safety and security products designed to prevent unauthorized access to firearms.

In 2001, Saf-T-Hammer acquired Smith & Wesson firearms from Tomkins PLC and renamed itself Smith & Wesson Holding Corporation. Mr. Saltz is a director of Smith & Wesson holding corporation and has served on the board of directors since 1997. Mr. Saltz was chairman and CEO of smith & Wesson from 1997 through 2003. Prior to these activities, Mr. Saltz was the founder and president of Business Information Systems with offices in Ohio and Arizona.

Mr. Saltz earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Cleveland State University in 1974 and was inducted into Business Hall of Fame in 2010.
