Goodyear and the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University are inviting Cleveland State University students over the age of 18 pursuing a Master's degree or Undergraduate students with significant experience in lean startup, human-centered design, data science or graphic design to participate in the 3rd Annual Goodyear Innovation Challenge.
The Goodyear Innovation Challenge is a design and innovation competition. Students work in teams of four or five individuals. The top five teams compete for prize money in a hackathon at think[box] and an opportunity to work alongside team members from the Goodyear Innovation Labs.
This year, Goodyear is posing the challenge: "Where can Goodyear play beyond the tire in order to meet the evolving demands of the modern consumer?" Students will be asked to propose a new take on the role of a large multinational tire company in the changing mobility ecosystem. The brief students are being asked to address is located here.
Interested? Here's how to participate:
Step One: | Team Info: Submit the names and contact information of 4-5 team members. Multidisciplinary teams are strongly encouraged! You must submit your team information by September 30, 2018. |

Step Two: | Submit Proposal: Submit a proposal in response to the Brief. Only one proposal per team and they MUST be received by October 12, 2018 |
STEP Three: | A jury will then select and invite teams with the top five (5) proposals to the Hackathon. October 18, 2018 |
Step Four: | The final teams will travel to Cleveland for the two-day hackathon at think[box] working alongside students from other schools and Goodyear Innovation Lab Associates for cash prizes. November 8-9, 2018 |
