Dr. Hassan A. Ahmed is Director & Academic Advisor of the Master of Information Systems (MIS) graduate program and a Lecturer in the Information Systems Department at Cleveland State University. He focuses on AI, business & systems analysis, systems thinking & modeling, and analytics to improve decisions and operations—bridging theory and practice. He consults with organizations on business/systems analysis and systems-thinking–driven process improvement, and he designs project-based courses with measurable results. He is passionate about mentoring students from classroom to career through portfolio-ready projects and industry engagement. Beyond campus, he analyzes the stock market through an AI lens, informed by earlier work as a former stockbroker. Previously, he taught as an adjunct faculty at Kent State University. Recent publications include an AMCIS 2025 paper on MRI-based Alzheimer’s diagnosis, a 2024 peer-reviewed article on speech emotion recognition, and an IEEE-indexed publication. Entrepreneurially, he is a founder and non-operating owner in Cleveland-based healthcare and construction ventures, with board-level responsibility for strategy, governance, and compliance. He holds a doctoral degree from Case Western Reserve University and a master’s degree from Kent State University, underscoring his Greater Cleveland roots. He also provides TV commentary on AI/analytics, systems analysis, and market dynamics, and is PMP-certified (PMI); honors include the Golden Apple (CSU, 2024) and Practitioner Scholar Award (CWRU, 2021).
