IST 493-511:  GenAI for Work: Practical AI Skills for Modern Professionals

• This is a pilot course with no prerequisites, worth 1 credit.
• Online, 6  Weeks (1/26/26 - 3/7/26)

  • Explain ethical and responsible use of GenAI in workplace contexts.
  • Create effective prompts to accomplish professional tasks.
  • Generate and refine deliverables (e.g., emails, briefs) using GenAI with accuracy checks.
  • Apply GenAI in a simple workflow for productivity (e.g., meeting prep or summarization).
  • Identify and mitigate risks like bias, hallucinations, and confidentiality issues.

Spring 26 Courses Highlight

• IST 450 Web Programming, Online WEB (Prerequisite: IST 211 and IST 331). This course introduces full-stack development of web applications using the latest web standards.  The topics include HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Mobile Web, API, Node.js, React, jQuery, PHP Server-Side and SQL Database Access.
• IST 493 Sec. 510/ IST 638 Cloud Computing in the Enterprise, Online WEB (Prerequisite: IST 506). This course prepares you to become an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and is ideal for individuals looking to start a career in cloud computing.
• IST 693 Special Topics: Web Programming, Sec 510, Online WEB  (Prerequisite: IST 500 and IST 504). This course introduces full-stack development of web applications using the latest web standards.  The topics include HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Mobile Web, API, Node.js, React, jQuery, PHP Server-Side and SQL Database Access.
