The Gathering Place is seeking a Marketing Intern. The Gathering Place offers free programs and services addressing the emotional, physical, spiritual and social needs of individuals and families currently coping with the impact of cancer in their lives. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, able to work independently, have transportation and be available some evenings/weekends. The position is for 15 hours per week (hours are flexible).

The Up Side of Downs of Northeast Ohio is seeking an intern to work within the Development team for one of their major fundraising events. The position will start in January and be approximately 10 to 12 hours per week and cover a range of responsibilities including marketing, records, event projects, coordinating donations, etc. The majority of responsibilities will be focused on assisting the Development Coordinator in event logistics, planning and coordination including researching best practices for fundraising events and campaigns; drafting and posting social
media messaging; communicating regularly via email and telephone with current and prospective donors, sponsors and volunteers; handling inquiries from USOD families and various event preparation assignments.

Additional job duties include but are not limited to attending monthly committee planning meetings and provide support preparing
for the event; assisting the Marketing and Volunteer Coordinator with creating social media calendar and social media posts (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) and with maintaining volunteer databases; creating and mailing of event materials; completing other special projects, etc.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal); be detail-oriented, have the ability to multi-task, take direction, work independently, meet deadlines and adapt to fast-paced or immediate changes; have experience with event planning or fundraising (this is a plus and not required); be proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Google (Docs, Sheets). Graphic design experience helpful (Publisher, InDesign, Illustrator, Canva); be able to maintain confidentiality when dealing with USOD issues and information and have an understanding of USOD programs and possess an interest in their mission.

Charter Senior Living - Health Care MBA Internship Opportunity

Beginning Fall of 2019, Charter Senior Living in Sylvania, Ohio (outside Toledo) is seeking a student from our MBA-HCA program to hire as an intern.  Within this position the student would have the opportunity to learn all aspects of the senior living discipline of healthcare and potentially be offered a full-time position with the organization.  Details of the internship are as follows:

  • The selected student would receive room and board at one of their healthcare facilities. 
  • They would be paid a stipend of at $15 per hour
  • The internship length will be for a minimum of 16 weeks (a full semester).
  • The internship will be considered as an employment-at-will relationship between Charter Senior Living and the student.
  • The internship will be designed to provide the individual with a thorough grounding in the management and operation of a long-term care organization. It is expected that the fellowship will supplement the student’s classroom education and better prepare him/her for a career in the field.
  • The intern will be encouraged to complete a 2-week course in CNA or STNA certification.  This would be paid by Charter Senior Living.
  • It will be the decision of Charter and the intern to apply for Administrator-In-Training (A.I.T.) status with the Ohio Board of Executives of Long Term Services and Supports (B.E.L.T.S.S.).
