International Entrepreneurship Applied Research Symposium

International Applied Entrepreneurial Research Symposium

Catalyzing Change: Applied Entrepreneurship at the Intersection of Research, Innovation & Global Impact

November 11-13, 2026

Cleveland State University, Cleveland, Ohio, USA

The International Applied Entrepreneurial Research Symposium brings together entrepreneurship scholars, educators, and ecosystem leaders from around the world to explore how applied research and practice can drive meaningful economic and social progress. The symposium seeks to inspire ongoing inquiry and collaboration, strengthening our collective understanding of how entrepreneurship can fuel economic growth, expand opportunities, and support personal success in an increasingly interconnected global landscape.

We invite contributions that share new and emerging research, applied case studies, and practice-based insights from entrepreneurship educators, researchers, ecosystem leaders, and practitioners. Presentations may highlight research outcomes, work in progress, early findings, innovative programs, or real-world experiments that advance our understanding of how entrepreneurship is taught, supported, and scaled across diverse contexts. We are open to receiving proposals on broad topics, but will prioritize submissions that address one or more of the following themes:

1) Entrepreneurial learning: How learning environments develop entrepreneurs through pedagogy, programs, and practice-based models that translate into venture and ecosystem outcomes.
2) Technology Frontiers and Data-Driven Entrepreneurship: AI-enabled venture creation, digital platforms, data/analytics for opportunity discovery, and technology shaping new venture strategy and operations.

3) Entrepreneurship for Societal Good and Resilient Economies: Inclusive, sustainable, and mission-driven entrepreneurship, where ventures explicitly target social/environmental purposes.

4) Global Ecosystems and Cross-Border Collaboration: Entrepreneurship ecosystems, policy, institutions, and cross -border partnerships that accelerate innovation and venture scaling.

Submissions will be considered for a variety of break-out session formats including:

  • Presentations of research papers
  • Research in-progress roundtables
  • Lightening talks on topical issues
  • Workshops sharing best practices

Conference will include an optional entrepreneur tour, exploring the Northeast Ohio entrepreneurial eco-system.
