Meet the Everson Research Fellows

The Paul J. Everson Real Estate Center supports the mission to serve as the leading resource for Cleveland area real estate professionals and students by providing support and access to cutting-edge researchers and their initiatives. Research Fellows collaborate with faculty members, graduate students and staff to enhance knowledge and competence in the areas of real estate, real estate finanical markets/models and brokerage services.

Spenser J. Robinson

Dr. Spenser J. Robinson

Dr. Spenser J. Robinson is currently an Assistant Professor within the Department of Entrepreneurship and the Director of Real Estate within the Department of Finance and Law at Central Michigan University. Dr. Robinson's research has been published in leading journals such as Journal of Real Estate ResearchJournal of Real Estate Finance and EconomicsJournal of Sustainable Real EstateThe Appraisal Journal and many more. 

Dr. Spenser has also written for practitioner bodies such as the CREFC. He has been awarded nationally competitive grants for leading edge sustainable real estate research, most notably with CBRE Real Green Research Challenge.

Dr. Spenser currently serves as Co-Editor for the Journal of Sustainable Real Estate, Associate Editor for the American Journal of Business, is on the the board of American Real Estate Society and chairs its Research committee. He is a frequent industry speaker and panelist and has served as a guest editor and ad hoc reviewer for a number of journals.

He acts as the Director of Real Estate at Central Michigan University, running the commercial real estate focused Real Estate Development Major and as an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship mentoring students in start-ups.  Dr. Robinson's teaching philosophy focuses on interactive, experiential learning, with a strategic and global focus.  His students move beyond the formula and numbers into applied learning and strategic implementation.  He is comfortable delivering instruction in a variety of medium, including on-line.

Dr. Michael Seiler

Dr. Michael J. Seiler

Dr. Michael J. Seiler is currently the K. Dane Brooksher Endowed Chair/Professor of Real Estate and Finance at The College of William & Mary. Dr. Seiler was the former Chief Economist at the hedge fund Palex Capital. Internationally-recognized as a behavioral real estate researcher whose studies have been cited in the Wall Street JournalNew York TimesLA Times and the Washington Post, he has published over 150 research studies, written several books and currently serves as the editor of Real Estate Finance and co-editor of the Journal of Real Estate Literature

Dr. Seiler received the William N. Kinnard Young Scholar Award, a national recognition for making significant contributions in his field. More recently, his work on strategic mortgage default and foreclosure contagion was awarded the Governor's Technology Award in the area of Modeling & Simulation and in 2015, Dr. Seiler was ranked #1 out of 883 authors in the Real Estate Academic Leadership (REAL) Author Rankings. 

Dr. Seiler is also the past President of the American Real Estate Society as well as a Cleveland State University alumnus and former student of one of the founders of the Paul J. Everson Real Estate Center, Dr. Webb.
