Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) offers funding to help dislocated workers and income-eligible adults gain new skills and improve job prospects. Cleveland State University (CSU) is a certified Ohio WIET training provider, enabling qualified individuals to pursue funded training through our programs.

The goal is to provide robust career services and training to boost employability.

As a certified WIET (Workforce Inventory of Education and Training) provider, Cleveland State University (CSU) is proud to offer WIOA-funded programs that equip students with the skills needed for today’s competitive job market. This designation allows CSU to support dislocated workers, low-income adults, and others facing employment barriers by providing career-driven training programs backed by Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funding.

How to Qualify for WIOA Funding

  1. Dislocated Worker: If you’ve lost your job due to circumstances beyond your control, such as layoffs, company closures, or military spouse relocation, you may qualify regardless of prior income.
  2. Adult Income-Eligible: If your household income is below 250% of the Federal Poverty Level, you may qualify for WIOA-funded training.

To apply for a WIOA Grant: Contact your county ODJFS Office
