New Manager Certificate

Students must register in each individual course separately or call 216.687.6957.

Professionals transitioning into a supervisory or managerial role for the first time face a whole new set of challenges. Supervisors must take responsibility for the work of others, rather than only the work that they perform. This comprehensive certificate offers the information and tools new supervisors need to successfully make this transition.

Critical Conversations teaches skills for creating alignment and agreement by fostering open dialogue around high-stakes, emotional or risky topics - at all levels of your organization. By learning how to speak and be heard (and encouraging others to do the same), you’ll begin to surface the best ideas, make the highest-quality decisions and then act on your decisions with unity and commitment.

What is empathy? Emotional intelligence. Emotional Intelligence is the capacity to be aware of, control, and express one’s emotions and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically. Emotional Intelligence underpins our capacity to work well with others, manage stress and make effective decisions. These abilities can be measured and learned.

Who Should Attend?

  • Communicators at all levels and from various industries, for-profit and nonprofit
