What is Lean LaunchPad?
Lean LaunchPad is a methodology that is changing the way we think about entrepreneurship and innovation on a global scale. The method has been adopted by universities, business accelerators/incubators, government institutions and corporations. The program follows the curriculum and methods developed by serial Silicon Valley entrepreneur and Stanford professor, Steve Blank. And, IT ACTUALLY WORKS!
Startups are fundamentally different than businesses in that startups are eagerly seraching for a business model. This process is called Lean Startup and looks like this:
Lean LaunchPad has students implementing this process immediately - working in teams to talk to customers, partners and competitors and learning first-hand how a startup actually works. Students will learn how to use a business model canvas to brainstorm each part of their company and customer development as you "get out of the building" to interview potential customers. At the end of the course, students will have learned how to successfully trnasform concepts and ideas into products and services that customers will want to buy.
When is it offered?
Lean LaunchPad is offered starting in Fall of 2014 - classes are once a week from 6:00 to 8:50 PM on Wednesdays.
What is the admision process?
The Monte Ahuja College of Business will only accept a limited number of TEAMS of students that are passionate, curious and extremely agile. Each team member must be able to commit to at least 10 hours per week of customer development work as well as complete the assigned video and readings each week.
