Deadline for Submission: June 28, 2019
The Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship located within the Monte Ahuja College of Business at Cleveland State University and the Asher Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) located in Lebanon, will jointly host the 2nd International Entrepreneurship Research Symposium on October 25th and 26th, 2019 on the Cleveland State University Campus. The theme of the symposium is: Building the Entrepreneurship Ecosystem in Changing Times: Technology, Education and Globalization.
Scholars, practitioners and policy makers from around the globe are invited to deliberate the impact of rapidly changing technology, education systems and the global rise of nationalist policies on innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems.

We welcome abstracts, short papers or case study submissions that relate to four research clusters described below:
I. Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Economic Growth
- Entrepreneurial dimensions and economic growth
- The influence of meso-environmental factors
- Start-up growth and sustainable entrepreneurship
- Technology transfer and entrepreneurial finance
- SME development, and strategic entrepreneurship
- Case studies in entrepreneurship ecosystem formation
II. Advances in Technology and its impact on Entrepreneurship
- Information technology as an infrastructure for entrepreneurs and SMEs,
- AI changing the Entrepreneurship ecosystem,
- Technology management in start-up companies,
- e-Entrepreneurship
III. Innovation, Entrepreneurship and 21stCentury Educational Systems
- Role of universities in innovation and entrepreneurship
- The importance of innovation and entrepreneurship education for a region’s economic growth
- Impact of engaged learning in creativity: fab-labs, maker spaces and ideation labs
IV. Rise of Nationalist Policies and their impact on Global Entrepreneurship Ecosystems
- Role of globalization in innovation and entrepreneurship
- Impact of nationalistic policy and legal framework
- Impact of ethnicity on Entrepreneurship
- The role of VC initiatives in a nationalist state
- Impact of social capital as an accelerator for Entrepreneurship
Submission Deadlines:
June 28th, 2019 | Deadline to send in abstracts or short papers |
July 19th, 2019 | Notification to authors of the approval or refusal of their abstracts/papers |
October 1st, 2019 | Deadline for receipt of the final amended paper for integration into Conference Proceedings in electronic format |
Short Paper Submission Guidelines:
The official conference language is English. Mini-papers can be submitted in the form of five to eight pages embodying the following criteria:
- Author presentation: surname, name, institution, full address, email and brief biography
- An abstract of around 250 words with 3 keywords referring to the central themes and concepts developed in the article
- A title and brief plan of the paper
- A paper written in Times New Roman 12, justified and A4 format. The paper must not exceed 8 pages with 1/5 line spacing, enclosing annexes and bibliography. Tables and illustrations must be numbered and inserted within the text. The upper, lower and lateral margins should be equal to 2.5 cm.
The scientific committee will evaluate the suitability of each submitted paper in "double blinding" according to the scientific norms in force and will propose, if necessary, any suggested modifications. All accepted papers will be published electronically in the symposium proceedings.
